Membrane Filtration - Water Treatment
Custom UF, MF, NF, and RO membrane systems for pathogen removal, desalination, and ultrapure water production.
What is Membrane Filtration?
Membrane technologies provide physical barriers that remove particles, pathogens, and dissolved contaminants based on pore size. Microfiltration (MF) removes bacteria and protozoa; ultrafiltration (UF) adds virus removal; nanofiltration (NF) removes hardness and organics; reverse osmosis (RO) removes dissolved salts and virtually all contaminants. Technology selection depends on source water quality, treatment goals, regulatory requirements, and concentrate management.
Equipment We Represent
Wigen Water Technologies - Custom Membrane Systems
- OEM manufacturer of custom UF/MF, NF, and RO membrane systems (established 1965, Chaska, MN)
- Applications: municipal water treatment, industrial process water, and ultrapure water production
- In-house process engineering selects the best membrane technology for each specific application
- Systems meet EPA LT2ESWTR requirements for surface water treatment
- Complete application-specific engineering, manufacturing, field commissioning, and ongoing service
- Mobile water treatment systems available for temporary or emergency applications
Applications
UF/MF as an LT2ESWTR-compliant pathogen removal barrier
NF and RO for brackish groundwater softening and TDS reduction
Custom membrane systems for pharmaceutical, food/beverage, and manufacturing
Mobile membrane systems for rapid deployment during outages or disasters
Why Winschel Environmental?
- True OEM manufacturing — Wigen designs and builds custom systems, not off-the-shelf assemblies
- Technology-agnostic selection — In-house engineers recommend the right membrane type for your water quality, not the one they have in stock
- Regulatory compliance built-in — Systems designed to meet LT2ESWTR and applicable state requirements
- Virginia coverage — Local support from feasibility through commissioning and membrane replacement programs
