Mechanical Aeration
Surface aerators, jet aeration, and floating diffuser systems for lagoons, oxidation ditches, and biological treatment basins.
What is Mechanical Aeration?
Mechanical aeration transfers oxygen through physical agitation at the water surface or through high-velocity liquid jets. Self-contained and well-suited for lagoons, oxidation ditches, equalization basins, and applications where fixed diffuser maintenance access is limited. Mechanical aeration systems eliminate the need for below-surface diffuser cleaning and replacement while providing effective oxygen transfer and basin mixing.
Equipment We Represent
AquaTurbo - AER-AS High-Speed Floating Surface Aerator
- Patented SCREWPELLER two-flight Archimedes-style impeller draws low-oxygen sludge from basin depths up to 8 meters
- Discharged as an oxygen-rich radial spray for effective surface aeration
- 100% stainless steel construction, 0.75 to 200 kW
- Direct-drive IP56 motors for reliable outdoor operation
- Applications: activated sludge, oxidation ditches, lagoons, SBR, MBR, and aerobic digestion
AquaTurbo - AER-GD Low-Speed Surface Aerator
- Designed specifically for oxidation ditches and extended aeration systems
- Gearbox-driven four-blade impeller operating at 42–55 RPM
- Produces both aeration and strong horizontal flow for oxidation ditch circulation
- Available for bridge or float mounting with variable speed control
- Power range: 1.1 to 110 kW
Fluidyne - Jet Aeration and Jet Aspiration
- Jet aeration pumps liquid through double-nozzle assemblies that aspirate air for high oxygen transfer
- Provides off-bottom solids suspension alongside aeration in a single system
- Ideal for SBRs, oxidation ditches, extended aeration, and BNR applications
- Jet aspiration provides a simpler, cost-effective option for moderate aeration needs
Entex Technologies - Octopus Floating Aeration System
- Stainless steel floating pod with eight legs carrying fine or coarse bubble diffusers (up to 32 diffusers per unit)
- Air supplied from shore-based blowers — no motors in the water
- Leg-by-leg maintenance via quick disconnects in approximately 5 minutes per leg
- Approximately 50% of the energy cost of splash surface aerators
- Applications: lagoons, SBRs, extended aeration, and aerobic digesters
Landia — AirJet Aeration
- AirJet venturi-style jet aeration driven by Landia chopper pumps
- Combines mixing and oxygen transfer for basins, lagoons, and digesters
- No in-basin moving parts — pump and blower mounted externally for easy maintenance
